Private Paying Clients

Full session fees are payable immediately after of your appointment which will be processed by ASM by credit card payments. Your credit card is required to be stored securely on ASM's client database to enable payment for your appointment. There is a $4.14 processing fee for all private (non-NDIS) paying clients.

With a current Mental Health Care Plan from your GP under the 'Better Access to Mental Health Care' initiative you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $96.65 for specific psychological services for up to 10 sessions per year. Relevant rebates will be processed by ASM once your account is settled. Medicare rebates will be returned directly into your nominated account by Medicare (usually within 7 days).

 

If you have Private Health coverage you may be eligible to receive a partial refund through your private health insurance policy. Contact your health fund for more information regarding this. Upon payment of your appointment, you will be emailed a receipt to provide to your private health fund to claim any refunds. It is important to note that due to Medicare requirements, you are unable to use access the 'Better Access to Mental Health Care' initiative and private health fund for the same appointment. ​

 

NDIS Clients

NDIS clients will be charged the full fee, either on the day of your appointment (Self-Managed) or payable within 7 days of your appointment (Plan-Managed). You will be provided an invoice and receipt to provide your Plan Manager or the NDIA directly for a full reimbursement. It is the client's responsibility to ensure psychological services are covered under your NDIS package.​

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

If for some reason you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please give ASM a minimum of 48 hours notice, otherwise you will be charged the full cost of the session. Medicare does not reimburse for appointments that do not occur. However, we do not want to charge you for an appointment you cannot attend, therefore we strongly encourage you to provide plenty of notice if you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason and we will be happy to reschedule.

​Please note: The ‘Australian Psychological Society’ recommends a fee of $300 for a 45 to 60 minute session.
